Special Sessions

Special sessions are very small and specialized events to be held during the conference as a set of oral and poster presentations that are highly specialized in some particular theme or consisting of the works of some particular international project. The goal of special sessions (minimum 4 papers; maximum 9) is to provide a focused discussion on innovative topics. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on digital support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), DBLP, EI (Elsevier Engineering Village Index) and Scopus.

Sophisticated Healthcare services have been around for decades in most developed countries. These services, while mainly relying on human intervention in moderate as well as extreme circumstances, consume a significant portion of health care budget. The healthcare workers are also overloaded as of present, due to increasing number of reported health related cases. To assist in the present situation, recent developments in technology can play an important role. The technology advancements introduce new and efficient means to revolutionize the existing healthcare infrastructure. With the use of modern technologies, incorporation of smart sensors (mobile phone sensors and wearable technologies), machine learning, classification and modelling techniques, the vital conditions of patient’s health can be evaluated without investing excessive money and manpower.
